I took in two suit pants and whole suit (blazer and pants) to be tailored and altered. Fantastic experience overall. The shop was presented immaculately, the tailor was professional and extremely helpful in providing advice on fit and alterations, and the garments were available at the appointed time. Definitely one of the better alterations specialists in Canberra I’ve been to – would use again and recommend to others.

I have been so impressed and will never go anywhere else now that I’ve discovered Opal. Fast, professional, friendly service, and very high quality – I’m always amazed at how I can’t find the part that was mended after they have done their magic! I recommend them to everyone.

Brilliant service! I had a pair of curtains that needed hemming and was very pleased to discover there was a pick up and delivery option. Jeff was professional, courteous and extremely helpful, and even offered to return my curtains on the same day he collected them. I have used Opal Alterations for 5 Years now and I have always had excellent service from these kind gentlemen. My daughters and I are modest people and they have always been respectful an kind and well mannered. They have done amazing work on my daughter’s formal dress, my other daughter’s wedding dress, hemmed 15 pairs of my pants and practically performed a miracle on two summer dresses. I took my items here after visiting another tailor in the city and being told it would take 45 days to take in my skirt. Took my skirt into Opal Alterations on a Saturday and was able to pick it up on Sunday, not to mention the price was almost half of what I was quoted at the other place. The customer service is great and good quality tailoring. Will definitely only use Opal Alternations in the future and highly recommend!

I wanted to take the time and tell people about my experience. I got married on the 28th of October and the months leading up to my wedding was stressful. What was even more stressful is that the woman I bought my wedding dress from measured me incorrectly, I was a size 7 and she ordered in a size 4 wedding dress. She then made out nothing was wrong despite me feeling like a stuffed sausage. I was forced to lose weight in 4 months. I lost 6 kgs but the dress was still a bit tight and rolled up on the sides. I took it to Jeff and his team 3 weeks before my wedding, almost in tears and they were able to make my wedding dress fit perfectly! Already they saved the day! But then my flower girl put on weight the day before my wedding and my maid of honour wanted her dress altered because she had lost weight the day before my wedding! I called Jeff to make emergency alterations! And he reassured me that he could make it happen. I took the girls in for their alterations and a couple of hours later that night they were ready to be picked up! I cannot thank this alteration place enough! Their friendly, fast and work miracle. At the end, I also took my wedding dress back to be dry cleaned and boxed and to no surprise they did a beautiful job with that too. I would definitely go back here again. I would recommend this alterations to anyone who would listen because they do such a fantastic job!! And there prices are very reasonable for the quality work they do! Thanks Jeff!

  • Pricing - Our mobile service prices are the same as in-store prices. Orders can be a combination of alterations and dry cleaning. Click Here to see our extremely competitive prices.
  • Appointments - We have 2 types of appointments; standard and window appointments. Standard appointments are regular appointments at your chosen day/time. Window appointments are flexible and will be within a 2 hour time-window that you choose.
  • Payment - Invoices can be paid online before delivery or at the drop off time via Eftpos/Card or Cash to ensure customer satisfaction. We do not collect/Store any credit card details. If you are not going to be home for delivery and would like us to leave your garment at your designated area please make sure payment is made before delivery, otherwise delivery can not be made and a re-delivery fee of $25.00 will apply.
  • Re-Delivery - $25.00 surcharge will apply if you miss your delivery. We can always pick-up and drop off your items at a designated spot if you will not be home for the delivery and agree to it at time of booking.
  • Quotes - You can always contact us for quotes on orders you are not sure about.
